The original was good, but the Remake had EVERYTHING improved with incredible graphics, third person gameplay, voice acting, etc. You should be able to stumble your way through the game by yourself but just in case you need some help everything you'll ever need to know is in here. Spyro: Shadow Legacy (Spyro SL) takes the series in a new direction by adding framerate problems, a weak collision system, and useless touch screen elements. To put it more specifically for how I would imagine it being remastered, think of it like how Final Fantasy 7 got its remade version. The first Spyro game for the Nintendo DS brings rpg-lite features to the series.

Only this time, the camera angles would be third person, just like the classic games, the graphics would be improved, and of course have voice acting. I do wonder how much better the game would become if it was remade and remastered from the ground up on the Nintendo Switch. My favorite soundtracks in the game would have to be Dragon Shores, Savannah, and Lost Fleet. It's a bit creepy, but I think it fits the atmosphere perfectly.

I especially think the music for the stranded worlds and the Shadow Realm bring a nice dark tone into the game with how serious the situation is. The game starts after the defeat of Red and at the end of a vacation at Dragon Shores, with Spyros friends departing back to their homelands before wishing him the best of luck with some magic training at the Dragon Temple. My only three complaints about the game is that it has a few bugs at times, Spyro doesn't have any written dialogue during the game for some reason, and that Ball spell is just REALLY annoying with how the game forces you to draw an EXACTLY perfect circle to cast.īut other than all that, I still found the game fun nonetheless. I thought it had an interesting story, good music, cool combat moves giving the gameplay a more challenging, RPG style, and, of course, the epic magic spells Spyro can learn from the Dragon Elders throughout the game.
